Radio K

Working at Radio K was an integral part of my college career. I kept busy managing multiple social media platforms, uploading content to the website, designing web tiles, negotiating sponsorships, planning promotional events, writing scripts for promotional spots, and much more.

As marketing director, I worked with various venues around town to coordinate concert sponsorships and ticket giveaways for artists relevant to Radio K. I also negotiated media trades with various organizations that reach similar audiences as Radio K, including the Minneapolis St. Paul International Film Festival, Minnesota Roller Derby, The Minnesota Daily, The Wake Student Magazine, and more. My duties also involved promoting Radio K on campus, in order to recruit new volunteers.

I also spent a lot of time developing Radio K’s web presence as well, by uploading all of the content to the website. I also developed a voice for their social media presence across multiple platforms. I made the voice informative, yet casual. I wanted to incorporate a sort of humor seen in a lot of college students. I wanted Radio K’s social media to feel like a friend, rather than just a media outlet. Radio K can be found on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.

By the time I graduated, I had negotiated sponsorships for over 100 events, spent countless hours creating web pages, and probably tweeted a thousand silly memes. Below are some highlights of my work and a nostalgic photo carousel. Click each event flier and logo for more information.
