Off The Record

I co-hosted Radio K’s local music show for just under three years. My duties included curating two hours of local music each week, booking a weekly in-studio with a local artist, curating a calendar of local concerts, and making a monthly playlist composed of new releases from local artists. Each weekly in-studio involved a photo and video shoot, as well. One of my favorite performances is linked above.

It is apparent that the Twin Cities pump out a lot of great music, and this position caused me to greatly immerse myself in the Twin Cities’ music scene. I found myself constantly researching what artists around town where up to, building relationships with artists and venues, and listening to new music. Aside from hosting on-air, I also co-hosted First Avenue’s annual Best New Bands showcase three years in a row. All of the monthly K-Local playlists I made can be found here.
